During my clinical placement at Your Body Osteopathy (YBO), I felt immediately welcomed into the team and the space. From the beginning, I was made to feel valued, supported, and included — not just as a student, but as part of the clinic. The environment at YBO is highly collaborative and team-focused, which is especially impressive given the size and business of the team. Everyone shares responsibilities — from clinical and reception duties to daily learning opportunities — creating a sense of shared purpose and care.
There is a strong culture of support and open communication, led by Marnie and practised genuinely by each practitioner. I particularly admired how much effort goes into mentoring and encouraging newer graduates, whilst also naturing passions in the more experienced osteopaths, making learning both practical and inspiring. I was also lucky enough to join several of their monthly CPD sessions, which were invaluable. These sessions offered not only education and clinical insight but also connection, reflection, and collaboration that I wouldn’t have accessed on my own. They also contributed to the feeling of being individually valued and developing a strong team culture.
The warm, friendly, and community-focused culture at YBO truly stood out to me. It’s a workplace that values excellence in care and genuine teamwork, and it reaffirmed the kind of professional environment and mentors I hope to surround myself with after graduation. This experience helped me grow in confidence and independence while staying challenged and passionate about osteopathy. Most importantly, it showed me the value of creating a grounded, welcoming space for patients and colleagues alike. Through observing and learning at YBO, I’ve gained a clearer sense of the kind of practitioner I aspire to be — implementing continual learning, creating a warm and approachable space.
